RECALL MOLALLA MAYOR MIKE CLARKE! END THE DICTATORSHIP!

Update 8/26/2011: Coming soon! The story of how phony “mayor” Clarke used public resources to consult the city attorney about how to censure a City Councilor. That is a travesty to use public funds to run a personal vendetta  – especially when coward “mayor” Clarke didn’t even have the courage to then do his  dirty censure work himself – he got another Councilor to do it! PHEW! How fast can the city get rid of him? And never forget, citizens heard nasty, soon to be gone failed manager Atkins coaching an ex-City Councilor (who now lives in Lake Oswego) about how to “testify” in favor of the censure. Something stinks and the stench comes from phony “mayor” Clarke and his side kick, unethical Atkins.

My country is free! God is great! My country is free!” screamed one Gargaresh resident, reached by telephone. He had to shout — the rhythmic roar of the crowd with him drowned out any quieter conversation.” – New York Times coverage about the fall of DICTATOR Quaddafi (story posted below)

It is truly tragic to see the people of Molalla suffering under the DICTATORSHIP of failed, fake mayor MIKE CLARKE!

RECALL MIKE CLARKE!

Mike Clarke is a coward and a bully. He clings to nepotism and refuses to honor Oregon’s Goal One, which calls for DIVERSE CITIZEN INVOLVEMENT. Clarke appointed his own son to a city committee under the noxious rule that the mayor gets to appoint members of public committees. So now the mayor’s son runs the parks committee. How about putting the mayor’s wife in charge of the planning commission and finding some other family members to round out the CLARKE DICTATORSHIP? That’s the kind of failed city Clarke has created – the fewer voices, the bigger the failures!

RECALL MIKE CLARKE!

Mike Clarke’s decades of non- leadership, attempts at censorship and advocacy for land speculators has cost Molalla hundreds of thousands of dollars and created a low quality, decayed city! Mike Clarke allowed a HALF A MILLION DOLLAR PLANNING DEFICIT to occur  – and still tried via nepotism to protect his incompetent buddy, fake planner Potter!

RECALL MIKE CLARKE!

Clarke is a coward because he lets others – like his semi-literate son Scott and Councilor Pottle – do his dirty work.

Mike Clarke didn’t have the courage to bring a censure against an innocent Councilor. He used Councilor Pottle to do the dirty work – and thankfully that failed.

Then Mike Clarke the COWARD let his son start recalls – and claims he didn’t know about the recalls. Too bad Mike Clarke and semi-literate Scott Clarke (all it takes is one reading of the garbled so-called reasons for the recall on Little Prince Scott’s petition to prove “semi-literate Scott Clarke”) didn’t protect themselves because the stories they told in the local paper about who knew what when don’t jive.

Mike Clarke’s DECAYED, DYSFUNCTIONAL, LAUGHING-STOCK  CITY OF MOLALLA is seeking a new city manager. That is a hoot – who in their right mind would take on the crap that goes on in Molalla? Nepotism! Misuse of public funds and grants! Who can “manage” ignorance and disregard for FEDERAL CIVIL RIGHTS LAWS? Who could work for a city that doesn’t respect POLITICAL FREE SPEECH? Who would sit by and watch “plans” pile up – plans written with grants from public funds that we all contribute to – that NEVER GET IMPLEMENTED!

Plans for Downtown Streetscape! Dead in the water. Plans to improve Toliver/211! Can’t afford to do it. Plans for 33 MILLION DOLLARS WORTH OF PARKS AND REC – and the city doesn’t even have a $100,000 in the parks fund and is wasting money on a silly gazebo instead of on parks/open space! Oh, and the Parks Plan is dead also because it was written with the giant population projection that is also DEAD IN THE WATER.

Clarke should be crowned the “King of DEAD PLANS”. Or better yet  the “King of COSTLY DEAD PLANS THAT WE ALL PAID FOR”.

I hear that one city manager candidate witnessed the censure city council meeting – and called the next day to be removed from consideration for the “job”. That was likely the SMART CANDIDATE – someone who knew that no matter what the current post, he/she was far better off not getting sucked into the black hole that is Molalla under DICTATOR MIKE CLARKE.

The funniest story yet is that pathetic, weak, paranoid DICTATOR MIKE CLARKE got facebook to remove the growing RECALL MAYOR MIKE CLARKE page!

And “mayor” Clarke once had the gall to write a letter saying how he fought for “freedom”  in Vietnam? It is more like he was in a foreign country to SUPPRESS NATIONAL CHOICE, since the Vietnam War was a CIVIL war – and, guess what – America LOST! Ha! Clarke, as far as I am concerned, was a dupe in an illegal war. People I knew, people with courage and morals, refused to fight in that nasty Vietnam conflict. Suppressing the freedoms of the Vietnam people to fight their own civil war was no badge of courage in my book! Clarke fought to protect IMPERIALISM!

I am guessing that Mike Clarke must have, a la Manchurian Candidate, been trained in North Korea in the ways of suppression of FREE SPEECH! “Red Queen, Mike”. And now Mike has trained semi-literate Scott: “Red Queen, Scott, start the recalls!”

Anyway, Mike Clarke’s NON- LEADERSHIP has created Molalla, a failing, flailing city that is like a drunk  about to hit bottom in the gutter of failure.

Mike Clarke spent public money like a drunk on garbage growth plans. Driving through the decayed, treeless, parkless, blighted downtown, it was obvious that more than half the crumbling storefronts are empty – and a lot of “business” revolves around bars, pawnshops, and a gun store: documented signs of urban decay.  Ditto for the ugly Safeway mall with all its empty commercial space.

Hey Clarke, could it be that potential investors meet you once and run like the wind? Investors must think “This guy is mayor? Holy hell, there is NO WAY I would invest somewhere with “this guy” in charge”.

I certainly want to gag every time Mike Clarke opens his mouth  – luckily that isn’t often because he has no ideas and has nothing to say. That’s what happens with DICTATORS – they get backed into the wall of silence with their desperate need to control the message and they start to flail in failure. He did write a funny “I’ll sue you” kind of letter to the County when he couldn’t get his way about his nutty population projection – and he got a GIANT DENY door slammed in his face.

If Dictator Clarke  actually ventured an opinion he would have to fear it would come back to haunt him – like his phony answer during an election when his only response to the question “what did you do for Molalla” was: “We built houses”. LOL!

Fake mayor Clarke is in that stage when it must be getting pretty scary trying to keep his DICTATORSHIP in place: new Councilors who got duped once but aren’t likely to get duped again are breaking ranks (and in the case of Councilor Pottle, actually saying he is sorry for pushing the censure), lawyers are ready to tear down the ILLEGAL CIVILITY CLAUSES in the city charter, and a new city manager is about to be hired. I’d be really worried about becoming marginalized if I were tiny man Clarke.

Only tiny men try to gather absolute power. Hitler comes to mind as a  “tiny man” example: Hitler could only stay in control by killing everyone with an idea that didn’t conform to Hitler’s views – compare that to tiny man Clarke’s attempts at DICTATORSHIP AND CENSORSHIP!

There must be something in the stars pulling the entire world to revolt – DICTATORS AROUND THE WORLD are dropping like flies. Power to the people! Get rid of petty DICTATORS like Molalla’s pathetic fake “mayor” Mike Clarke – the man who doesn’t have the courage to even fight his own fights.

Never ever forget the years of negative feedback that came to Clarke and his pet fake planner Potter about the legally indefensible comp plan/urban reserves – fake mayor Clarke cost Molalla and every taxpayer HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS as he tried to help his good old boy land speculators buddies get into the city.

Taxpayers must lay the neglect of the city at Clarke’s feet because, as he wasted HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS on the now DENIED urban reserve, he ignored the needs of the current residents. Clarke only focuses on STUFF EM IN without a moment of thought about quality of life. Now, with one out of every 160 homes in Molalla getting a foreclosure notice in July alone, Molalla’s only claim to fame is that it is rapidly becoming the ghettos of all ghettos.

So RECALL MOLALLA MAYOR MIKE CLARKE, the DICTATOR KING OF GHETTO MOLALLA!

All the prayers in the world won’t restore the HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS CLARKE pissed away.

All the prayers in the world won’t make Clarke an ethical leader who respects FREE SPEECH.

Do you want a COWARD stealing YOUR money because he only cares about a handful of land speculators (hint: Mike Clarke’s son Scott is a Real Estate agent)?

Do  you want someone who HATES FREE SPEECH representing you?

Do you want someone who doesn’t even have the guts to fight his own battles representing you?

Do you want CENSORSHIP a la Stalin, Hitler and North Korea?

Let’s hope someday soon the oppressed people of Molalla can celebrate the end of the DICTATORSHIP of Mike Clarke!

RECALL DICTATOR MIKE CLARKE: Molalla deserves ethical, transparent and accountable government – and that’s NOT what Mike Clarke represents! Tell him to step down NOW, he has done enough damage in his DICTATORSHIP for a lifetime!

Or, if you like having lowest property values and the highest foreclosure rates, the empty storefronts, the crumbling roads, the lack of parks and open space, the poo poo sewer water flowing into the Molalla River, censorship, the waste of public money and the protection of NEPOTISM, then DICTATOR CLARKE IS THE GUY FOR YOU!

Instead of a Bloody Struggle, a Headlong Rush Into a Cheering Capital

TRIPOLI, Libya — In the end, it was more of a Sunday drive than a punishing final offensive.

From the first cautious ventures out of the hard-fought prize of Zawiyah, the rebels’ advance became a headlong rush into the heart of Tripoli and Green Square, the symbol of Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi’s power. By nightfall, the rebels were in command of the square, the scene of so many manic, forced declarations of fealty to Colonel Qaddafi. Now, the portraits were ripped down, along with the green flags that marked his rule. Instead, young men waved rebel flags in the renamed Martyrs’ Square.

By 2:30 a.m. Monday, a wary quiet had taken hold. Rebel fighters secured the entrances to the square and staffed checkpoints in parts of the capital. There were small, ecstatic gatherings, but there were also long, silent streets in a city of frayed nerves, and rumors of roving government soldiers and snipers everywhere. After their speedy advance, the rebels’ hold on parts of central Tripoli seemed evident but also tenuous.

Bullets ricocheted here and there, and sounds of gunfights erupted sporadically but faded by the early morning. The road from Zawiyah to Tripoli was jammed with hundreds of cars, many with fighters aboard, in what looked like a move to further secure the city.

Sunday began with the sound of rockets. The roar subsided as the rebels moved beyond Zawiyah, a city that had taken days of heavy fighting to win back from the Qaddafi forces. But each time, the fighters found it a temporary jolt rather than a protracted battle.

The first major test was the military base for the feared Khamis Brigade, a heavy armored unit commanded by one of Colonel Qaddafi’s sons, in the town of Mayah. The brigade is the keystone of the so-called ring of steel defense line about 17 miles west of Tripoli, and for months NATO forces had identified it as the main obstacle to an advance to the capital.

Locals fear it: the Khamis Brigade’s troops do what they want, residents say, and get all the guns they want. Since the February uprising, the base has also served as a prison for government opponents.

On Sunday, the bodies of six Qaddafi soldiers lay near the entrance. A group of prisoners released from the base spoke of their torture and cried. Fighters cheered and grabbed what they could, including the most popular item, a Belgian gun, stacking pickup trucks high with weapons. Emad Ali took two bottles of battery fluid and some grease.

“I wanted something useful for the soldiers,” he said.

The soldiers did not need much help from Mr. Ali. NATO warplanes had flown overhead for days, bombing targets in the capital and its surroundings to clear the path to Tripoli.

An uprising in Tripoli on Saturday night also laid the groundwork. At the “zero hour,” as the rebels called it, residents took to the streets and held demonstrations that were met with deadly force by Qaddafi soldiers — who also further exposed their heavy artillery to NATO surveillance, one rebel leader said.

All day, news of fresh advances made its way back from the front lines, and then became obsolete. The rebels flew through town after town until they reached Janzur, a Tripoli suburb.

A convoy met them, but it was of jubilant Tripoli residents who had heard they were coming, honking car horns and screaming and waving out their windows as the fighters went past.

In Gargaresh, an affluent neighborhood in western Tripoli, residents spilled into the streets — at first in disbelief, compulsively sharing the news; then in joy, hugging and cheering — as they received text messages saying that the rebels had entered the city.

“My country is free! God is great! My country is free!” screamed one Gargaresh resident, reached by telephone. He had to shout — the rhythmic roar of the crowd with him drowned out any quieter conversation.

He and his neighbors had spent weeks inside their houses, he said, trying to keep trips outside as infrequent as possible because they feared Colonel Qaddafi’s security forces. But on Sunday night, they all reunited in a triumphant block party that lasted all night.

“They went in such a big hurry,” said Majid el-Haif, 32, a resident of the Siyahiya neighborhood who was in the street with his neighbors to celebrate the quick retreat of pro-Qaddafi forces. “It was so smooth.”
